Malcolm Goddard has 17 years of experience as a primary headteacher, leading his first school from satisfactory to outstanding, maintaining this over 12 years in post, and his second from inadequate (LA judgement) to good within 3 years of appointment.
He has also, during his career to date, been:
• A school improvement advisor for a local authority with overall responsibility for leadership across the whole authority
• A consultant headteacher
• An elected chair leading a successful collaboration of 26 primary schools
• A Local Leader of Education (LLE)
• A Kent Leader of Education (KLE)
• A Professional Partner and mentor to many newly appointed headteachers
• A financial consultant for a local authority supporting schools in financial difficulty
• A pupil premium champion developing a whole school pupil premium strategy
• An external consultant for Headteacher Performance Management
• A leadership trainer for large groups of headteachers, governors and teachers

Over his career, wellbeing and the overlap between personal and professional development have always been keen interests and areas of learning as an individual, a leader with responsibility for others and as a teacher working directly with children

  • Working as a consultant for a national school improvement consultancy agency
  • Working with families and children in a school in a coaching and mentoring role
  • Completing a counselling qualification
